Battle of the Yanthilmar System

The Battle of the Yanthilmar System was a war waged by the Imperium.

Sometime after the formation of the Great Rift, the Death Guard's 3rd Plague Company advanced into the System. They spread infection throughout the region, transforming inhabitants of 26 worlds into Poxwalkers. The system's few survivors congregated on the moon of Yanthilmar XV. Their prayers were seemingly answered when a Preceptory of the Order of the Argent Shroud arrived from the Warp. Despite being heavily outnumbered by the Nurgle infested hordes, the Sisters excavate a long-abandoned temple buried beneath the moon's southern pole. After diggint the temple's antenna-like spire from the frost, they entered the inner sanctum to engage in silent prayer. After three days, a pulse of silver light burst from the antenna, illuminating each planet in the System and decimating the hordes of Poxwalkers. This allowed the Sisters to travel to world to world and reclaim them with minimal fighting.^[1]
