Bedwyr
Bedwyr was a member of the Imperial Fists Legion, who took part in the Horus Heresy's Siege of Terra.[1a]
History
He would be among the Imperial forces that were outside of the Imperial Palace's Eternity Gate, when it was closed near the end of the Siege. Afterwards, Bedwyr was among the Imperial Fists that were led by Captain Fafnir Rann. While they continued to hold their own against the Traitors, the Captain's forces were later nearly killed after a surprise attack by a Daemon, disrupted Rann's battle plans. His efforts to hold a position against an oncoming horde were lost because of this and the Captain's forces were only saved due to an intervention by Commander Archamus II. With the aid of the much larger Imperial force, of Imperial Fists and Blood Angels, the horde was defeated and Rann's forces then joined with the Commander's.[1a]
This allied force would fight many battles against the Traitor hordes, which included the defense of the Inner Palace's Delphine Viaduct[1b]. Bedwyr was among Captain Fafnir Rann's forces [1c], which were sent with portions of the Blood Angels and White Scars to defend the causeway below the Viaduct[1b]. In the battle that followed, the Traitors swarmed Rann's position and the Imperial Fists Captain Fisk Halen was nearly slain by the Word Bearer Sor Talgron. Rann intervened to save Fisk's life, but was then almost overwhelmed by Talgron himself. This led Bedwyr and the Imperial Fist Cortamus, to come to Rann's aid and the three attacked the Word Bearer together. However Cortamus was quickly killed by Talgron and Bedwyr then used his storm shield to block the Word Bearer's furious blows. When Rann saw an opportunity to defeat Talgron, Bedwyr once again blocked the Word Bearer from hitting the Captain. This allowed Rann to deliver a series of blows that toppled Talgron and the White Scars then advanced into the Traitors, which caused them to temporarily retreat.[1c]
