The Bell of Saint Morrican was an Imperial Holy relic, that was the sister to the Bell of Saint Gerstahl.[1]

History

Though the Gerstahl was lost to the Imperium on Laurentix, during the 12th Black Crusade, the Morrican remained safe within Cadia's Shrine of St Morrican bell-tower. This was located in the Kraf Sector's tallest building and when the 13th Black Crusade began, the area was heavily defended by the Imperium's forces. A hundred days later, the Chaos invaders began to retreat and the Imperium began pursing their retreating warships, while declaring they had defeated the Crusade's master, Abaddon the Despoiler. However shortly afterwards, the Bell of Saint Morrican began to ring by itself and some noted how the Bell of Saint Gerstahl was also capable of doing the same thing. But the ringing signified the beginning of a Black Crusade and therefore it was speculated that the Bell of Saint Morrican must have been merely late in giving its warning or it was in celebration of their victory. This was soon proven false, though, when the Despoiler suddenly appeared near Cadia, in command of the Blackstone Fortress Will of Eternity and at the head of a massive Chaos warfleet. It was then revealed, that the invasion beforehand had been merely a ruse on Abaddon's part, in order to mislead the Imperium and divert its forces away from the Fortress World. Just as the Bell of Saint Morrican had signified, the 13th Black Crusade had now truly begun.[1]
