Blackfire Forge is a Forge that previously belonged to the Imperium, but was captured and occupied by forces of Chaos.[1]

History

The Forge originally belonged to the Imperium, before Chaos Cultists infiltrated and captured it. The workers inside the Forge were forced to defend it against the Death Korps of Krieg, who had been sent to besiege and reclaim it. While originally intending to use the Forge to produce munitions to defend it, the Cultists didn’t actually know how to run it, leading to a downfall in production.[1]

Initially, many workers secretly kept loyal to the Imperium, aiming to sabotage their overlords, but over time, most of the workers corrupted to Chaos. Workers drew 8-pointed stars to proclaim their allegiance to the Cult that occupied the Forge, or to blend in for survival.[1]

On the twentieth day of the siege, the Death Korps broke into the Forge. However, armed labourers were deployed by the Cultists to buy them time to set off explosives, collapsing the entrance that the Death Korps had created.[1]

Geography

Blackfire Forge was roughly the size of a hundred city blocks, and was built across multiple underground river systems for use as coolant. A flatbed trolley transit system was built to carry labourers and equipment across the Forge.[1]
