Borea is a Feral World on the very edges of the Ultima Segmentum. A savage and barren wasteland, its people are bestial but fierce fighters.[1]

Once a modern planet in the Imperium of Man's golden era, barely even a shadow of its former glory remains. Its lands are desolate and inhabited by monstrous creatures and fearsome, savage humans who live in tribal groups. Imperial nobles sometimes have prizefighters culled from Borea's population.[1]

History

Thought to have once been an advanced outpost of mankind, Borea was likely one of many worlds lost during the Age of Strife. During this time, its people fell to chaos, reducing them to little more than wild beasts who slept in their own filth and rutted like dogs. However, remnants of their technology, also tainted by the Warp, remained: such as golden torc necklaces, which every adult male wore.[1]

In 019.M41, Pontius Glaw, the seventh son of House Glaw of the Imperium, was on Quintius VIII purchasing combatants for his infamously brutal "pit games" when he met a particularly deadly fighter named Aaa who was captured from Borea. Pleading for the noble to purchase him, he offered his golden torc to Pontius, who accepted it and quickly became tainted by the Warp. This gave rise to his fall into heresy, leading to his eternal infamy as one of the most known blasphemers in the Imperium of Man's already dark history.[1]
