The Brotherhood of Iron is a House Goliath gang active in Hive Ceres, on the planet Necromunda.[1]

Overview

The Brotherhood of Iron is an all-male enclave of House Goliath living primitively even compared to their Cawdor neighbors; these grime-covered Goliaths are seldom seen beyond their forging pits, leading many badzone settlements to believe they are mythical giants or ogres. Clad in tanned rat skins or beaten plate armour, and wielding primitive melee weapons, the Goliaths of Ceres perpetuate these myths during their raids on the lower parts of Ceres Hive City, where they seize goods and slaves from other Houses on Necromunda.[1]

The Cawdor Word-Keepers view the Goliaths as the Emperor’s wrath incarnate and warn people to avoid the deep places of Ceres. Despite their fearsome reputation, the Brotherhood of Iron is a major producer of hand-beaten metal items, which they trade through the Guild of Coin, bringing profit to the clan. Hive Ceres also harbors slave Ogryn gangs who live alongside the Goliaths, regardless of whether they are escaped slaves or renegade pit fighters, as long as they aid in wars against the Cawdor. This large Ogryn population enhances the terror the Goliath gangs inspire, with many hivers mistakenly believing that Ogryns are what Goliaths become if they live long enough on Necromunda.[1]
