Bul'an Kothe
Bul'an Kothe was a Saturnine Praetor in the Salamanders Legion, during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1b]
History
On the onset of the Horus Heresy, he commanded the Salamanders' Saturnine-equipped Linebreaker Cadre Kothe, when the Legion attacked Isstvan V.[1a] During the battle, the Salamanders' Primarch, Vulkan, ordered his forces to destroy the Legio Mortis Imperator Traitor Titan Dies Irae, when it emerged on the battlefield. However out of all of the Legion's Saturnine forces, only Kothe and his accompanying Iron Drakes Saturnine Terminator squad, were in range to attack the Titan.[1b]
Kothe and the Iron Drakes then fired their Heavy Disintegrator weaponry to disable the Dies Irae's force fields, but in doing so they drew the attention of the Legio Mortis Warhound, Eschatae. The Warhound then bore down on them and repeatedly fired upon Kothe. While his Saturnine armour held for a moment, its defenses were quickly overwhelmed and the Praetor's body began to be taken apart. Before he died though, Kothe opened his vox and told his warriors to fight on in his stead. The Praetor's words were then recorded by the Salamanders and committed to the Legion's logs.[1b]
