The Cargo Delivery Pod is a cargo pod that is carried onboard imperial Navy vessels and can be modified to deploy Space Marines[1a] or other Imperial forces, like Sisters of Battle.[1b]
Description
Programmable to arrive at a specific destination,[1a] the Cargo Delivery Pod is launched from its compartment after having taken its cargo onboard by opening the airlock's door and accelerating away from its carrier vessel.[1b] When nearing its destination, an automated voice begins a countdown until landing. The Cargo Delivery Pod then decelerates by usage of thrusters, hitting a planetary surface like a shell and punching a crater thirty feet wide into the ground.[1c]
