This category collects all minor races and corresponding factions.
To make it really simple: the major races/species are Humanity (including all its subspecies), Orkoids (Orks, Gretchins and Snotlings), Eldar (which includes Exodites, Harlequins and Dark Eldar), Necron, Tau, Kroot and Tyranids.
Don't confuse Abhumans (subspecies of Humanity) with minor species. However, the Kin of the Leagues of Votann occupy this grey area. Being a highly derived descendant of humanity, they view themselves as a separate species at this point.
Aliens who developed on other planets (and have absolutely no relations whatsoever with Human DNA) are truly an alien species. However science fiction commonly uses the term Alien race instead. This also the case in Warhammer 40K.
