Cavalry & Mounted Units

The armies of the 41st Millenium include troops which ride into battle - on horses, grunting Cyboars, daemonic steeds,[1a] giant lizards and insects, and many other mounted units.[2] Those troops which ride creatures approximating the size of horses are generally called Cavalry.[1a][2] And there are also much larger mounted monstrous creatures and beasts of enormous size[2], such as Squiggoths.[3]

Cavalry
- Various Generals and other commanding officers of the Imperial Guard are known to ride horses and other mounts into battle.
- Rough Riders are the main cavalry troops of the Imperial Guard, mounted Guardsmen who ride into battle, often on Horses[1b] or other creatures.
Chaos
There are various types of Daemonic Steeds, daemons which are ridden or mounted by other daemons and Chaos Champions.[8b]
Cavalry
- Juggernauts are Daemonic Steeds of Khorne, often mounted as cavalry. A Bloodthirster that rides one is known as a Bloodcrusher[6] while a World Eaters Chaos Lord who rides one is known as an Arch-Slaughterer[7] There are also Lords Discordant that ride upon three-headed Juggernauts known as Juggernaut Helstalkers.[10]
