Cessio was a Company Ancient of the Ultramarines 4th Company.[1]
Biography
Cessio was part of the 4th Company forces assigned to the purging of a Genestealer Cult from the Hive City of Chanchados on Ponides III. Near the end of the battle, as the Cultists were driven back, they viciously threw themselves at the Ultramarines, with an Aberrant smashing open the previous Ancient's skull with a Power Hammer. Before the company's standard could fall to the ground, Cessio grabbed it and rallied his brothers, meeting the cult's Patriarch in single combat. However, Cessio's time as a banner bearer was short-lived, as the Patriarch's claws penetrated his Power Armour. Yet with his dying breath, he decapitated the Patriarch and died with the banner propped upright.[1]
After his death, Cessio was remembered by his brothers in the 4th for his actions, and given the honorary title of Ancient.[1]
