Though none are known to exist yet, the Primaris' creator, Archmagos Dominus Cawl, feared their existence would come true, if the Chaos Apothecary Fabius Bile ever gained access to the Sangprimus Portum.[1c]

It is in Cawl's possession, aboard the Zar-Quaesitor, and Bile attempted to persuade the Dominus to give him the Sangprimus Portum, when the Apothecary secretly contacted Cawl on the Ark Mechanicus, via a hologram communication.[1b] Bile had been threatened by Abaddon the Despoiler for sometime[1a] to provide a counter to the Primaris Space Marines,[1h] and the Apothecary would use the Portum to both solve this problem and rid himself of Abaddon[1f]. However Bile did not mention this with his discussion with Cawl. Instead the Apothecary stated that he would use the Sangprimus Portum to create a flawless 21st Primarch who would be the leader of his New Men, which Bile believed were destined to be the future of Humanity. He then attempted to convince Cawl to join him in this endeavor, to ensure their species' survival against the threats of Xenos and the Chaos Gods[1b], but the Dominus quickly refused. Cawl did not believe Bile's claims, due to his long history of heresy against his fellow Humans, and claimed instead, that the Apothecary wished to use the Portum to fill the Galaxy with Chaos Primaris Space Marines, that Bile would command. The Apothecary rejected this by stating he had vivisected several of Cawl's Primaris and they were so simplistically made, that the Apothecary would not need the Portum to create Chaos versions of them if he truly wanted to. Bile then ended the communication by warning Cawl he would take the Sangprimus Portum by force if he needed to, so that Apothecary could complete his plans to save Humanity.[1c]

This was not an idle threat, as moments later, Bile invaded the Zar-Quaesitor with a warband of his New Men and Beastmen from his warship, the Vesalius[1d]. As the invaders swarmed the Ark Mechanicus, many of Cawl's forces rushed to defend the Sangprimus Portum, to prevent Bile from claiming it[1e]. However, while the Chaos Apothecary did wish to claim the Portum, Bile knew it would be impossible to steal it from the Zar-Quaesitor with the forces he had under his command. Instead, he set his sights on something just as good - the Gene-seed of the first Primaris Space Marine, Alpha Primus. Bile had heard rumours of the abilities of Cawl's servant and also learned that Alpha served as a prototype for the Primaris. To the Apothecary this meant it likely that Cawl had ensured that Alpha contained the same genetic material that the Portum did[1g]. This was proven correct[1e], when Bile drew Alpha to him[1f] and then removed the Primaris' Gene-seed after the Apothecary paralyzed Alpha with a toxin. Bile then retreated back to his warship, Vesalius, and escaped with his prize[1g]. He is now conducting experiments with Alpha's Primaris Gene-seed, with the aid of his fellow Apothecary Petros, in order to produce the results that Abaddon the Despoiler has demanded of Bile.[1h]
