Chogorian Limitanei
The Chogorian Limitanei were Solar Auxilia Regiments, that served the White Scars Legion, during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy.[1]
History
They were raised from the White Scars' Homeworld, Chogoris, as well as among the multiple worlds that the Legion brought into Compliance such as Kolarne, Capsis and Lemua.[1] There was initial tension between the White Scars and the levies of these conquered peoples, but within a decade a begrudging respect and camaraderie had developed between the two.[2]
Regardless of their world of birth, though, the Limitanei conformed to a bare livery that was derived from Chogoris' city-dwelling societies. However in recognition of their service fighting beside the White Scars, the Limitanei's officers and veterans tended to wear additional heraldic elements that were taken from their patron Legion.[1]
The base colour for all Limitanei armoured vehicles is a pale khaki or tan, redolent of the more arid regions of plains-dwelling tribes. They also included dark red dag markings. These markings were thought to represent the tribes' subjugation of Chogoris' city-dwelling societies. [1]
