Cocholos is a Necron Tomb World located within the Maelstrom.[3]
Overview
Originally inhabited by the Necrons, it is the only remaining world of the Vhorskek Dynasty. It has suffered from numerous Daemonic infestations over the aeons, possibly due to the degradation of its contra-empyric wards.[3]
At some point it was settled by humans of the Imperium. Later on, the Daemon Prince Beublghor slaughtered the human population and transformed the planet into a lifeless orb.[1] Despite its vast Daemonic corruption, some intant Necron tomb complexes managed to survive thanks to their Noctilith barriers and the Necrons have engaged in endless wars with the world's new Daemonic inhabitants.[3]
Eventually, the Necrons of the Oltep Dynasty[Conflicting sources] would reawaken and unsuccessfully battle Beublghor and his Daemonic legions in the Corewar.[1]
Trivia
Conflicting sources
- The original source which mentions the world says that it belonged to the Oltep Dynasty,[1] but the more recent The Maelstrom: Lair of the Tyrant states it to have been the Vhorskek Dynasty.[3]
