Contagion
The Contagion (originally the Vengis) was a Hades Heavy Cruiser under Flag-captain Hendrik Morrau.[1]
History
As the Vengis, the ship fought under Morrau alongside the Lord Solar Macharius (under Rutgen Jago) in a fleet action against a force of Fra'al raiders in the Osiris cluster, and would meet it again over six hundred years later at the start of the Gothic War in 143 M41.[1]
Morrau, using his particularly determined and tenacious tactics in what later became part of fleet legend, relentlessly pursued and harried the Eldar cruiser Changeling.[1]
After putting down the Bligh Mutiny renegades in mid M40, Morrau and the Vengis were believed lost to the warp. Marooned in the immaterium, many of the crew were taken by madness and disease, but the vessel was found by the Chaos God Nurgle and remade in his pestilent image as the Contagion.[1]
