The battle known as the Corillia Relief was part of the 9th Black Crusade and was fought on the planet Corillia.^[1][2]

History

Initially, the Lamenters and Mortifactors Chapters were to defend Corillia from the Black Legion. However, due to their superstition, the Mortifactors were unwilling to fight alongside a Cursed Founding Chapter, and abandoned the Lamenters.^[2]

For six weeks, the Lamenters held Corillia alone, but were devastated down to only around 200 Space Marines.^[2] It was only due to the arrival of a combined White Scars and Ultramarines force that the Lamenters were saved from total destruction.^[1][2]
