Corsair's Keep
Corsair's Keep is the name given to one of the Blackstone Fortresses currently in possession of the Red Corsairs.[1]
History
Originally acquired by Abaddon the Despoiler, it was later gifted to Huron Blackheart. While ostensibly meant to cement an alliance, the Blackstone Fortress was judged by the Black Legion as dangerous due to extensive Daemonic possession in attempts to control it which drove its Machine Spirit insane.[2] The Red Corsairs quickly found themselves unable to activate the fortress, which continues to lie dormant. It now lurks within the interstellar gulfs between the Vhorst System and Kymnos Cluster in the Tyrant's Crown region of the Maelstrom. Despite its dormancy, the fortress is still used by the Red Corsairs as a key base and is home to added weapons batteries, launch bays, and constant additions to its surface. The Heretic Astartes launch numerous expeditions into its innards to combat Xenos incursions as a bubbling slick of Warp energy bleeds around it, interfering with travel in the region.[1]
While in Red Corsairs possession, this Fortress was used to house the reborn Primarch Roboute Guilliman and his followers when they were captured during the Terran Crusade. It became the site of fierce fighting when Cypher and Sylandri Veilwalker freed Guilliman and his men.[3] Later, Harlequins of the Masque of the Shattered Mirage launched a surprise attack on the Fortress, aided by a rogue faction from Yme-Loc. The Eldar sought to capture and control the ancient artifact.[4]
