Crystal Battery

Crystal Batteries are a type of energy storage system used by the Imperium. They are based on specially engineered crystals, which have the ability to absorb energy. During the process of absorption, the crystals' structure are altered. When the changes are reverted back, which causes the crystals to return to their original form, the stored energy is slowly released.[1]
Crystal Batteries can be recharged almost indefinitely, some can even be charged by simple heat as provided by exposure to sunlight. However, the most powerful Crystal Batteries can only be recharged by an electric generator.[1]
