Cult of the Exquisite Corpse
The Cult of the Exquisite Corpse is a Helot Cult[1], which lead an uprising in Hive Propesprine on Necromunda.[2]
Overview
Led by the charismatic Demagogue Mordrina Soth, they began as a localized rebellion in a pharmaceutica plant owned by House Escher, it quickly spread to other sectors, involving workers from House Orlock and House Goliath. Even noble Brat gangs joined in for the thrill, complicating efforts to contain the unrest.[2]
Soth's rebellion, through political cunning and likely the blessings of the Ruinous Powers, succeeded in overthrowing Hive Prosperine's rulers in a single night, establishing a new society ostensibly free of brutality and injustice. For 17 days, Soth maintained control, with former helots as overseers and former masters as serfs. However, the rebellion ended when militia divisions from other hives purged the rebels, revealing a transformed city marked by brutality and Chaos symbols.[2]
Order was restored, but Hive Prosperine remained cursed with higher rates of mutation and insanity. Mordrina Soth's fate is unknown, but her name endures as a symbol among Helot Cults rising against Necromunda's authorities.[2]
