Dagnor Primaris is an Imperium Hive World located in the Dagnor System in the Tenebra Subsector, located in the Caligari Sector in the Segmentum Tempestus.[1]

Overview

Dagnor Primaris is an overpopulated Hive World where vast levels are dedicated to nothing but labyrinths of the Administratum. Petentinioners sometimes spend months in these corridors while waiting for their appointments and submitting hundreds of forms to officials.[1a]

In the Upper Hive lives the Governor of the Tenebra Subsector in his colossal palace of Dagnorian living marble.[1a]

The gargantuan Hive Cities are powered by ancient geothermic power plants, which connect straight to the planetary core.[1a]

History

One significant event in Dagnor Primaris' history in late M41 was the rise of the Prophet Kavax of the Hydra Chaos Cult, who used hypnotic pict-recordings to spread rebellion across the Hive City. This message, cleverly distributed throughout the city's underground channels, triggered a widespread uprising that severely compromised Imperial forces stationed there. It was during this rebellion that the cultists set a deadly trap for the Imperial army, sabotaging their morale by infiltrating and turning many troops against their own command.[1b]

Further investigation of the cult's structure by the Caligari Conclave revealed an organised rebellion, where entire groups acted in a coordinated manner, suggesting a higher level of threat than previously anticipated. The rebellion was deeply entrenched in Dagnor Primaris, with entire sectors of the Hive being controlled by various factions led by skilled commanders. The Planetary Defense Force headquarters became a central battleground, and efforts to restore order were met with fierce resistance.[1b]

The Caligari Conclave then learned of a plot to destroy the Hive City's Geothermic Power-Nexus. This ancient structure, powering the colossal Hive Cities by tapping directly into the planetary core, became a target of the rebel forces. The destruction of the Power-Nexus would not only destabilize the Hive but could potentially trigger a catastrophic chain reaction that would compromise the entire planet’s structural integrity, forcing billions to evacuate.[1c] The initial attack was thwarted by Imperial forces, but the danger was far from over. It was revealed that the plot was part of a larger scheme orchestrated by the Alpha Legion, known for its treachery and deceit. The rebels, with the Prophet at their helm, proved to be mere pawns in a much grander conspiracy. The elusive Alpha Legion warlord Tarkos led these insidious efforts, spreading chaos throughout the system.[1c]
