Dane (Grand Master)
Dane is the Grand Master of the Knights of the Crimson Order, a Dark Angels Successor Chapter.[1a]
Biography
He an accomplished fleet commander,[1b] who is utterly loyal to the Dark Angels' Supreme Grand Master Azrael. This was mentioned to the Supreme Grand Master by Chief Librarian Ezekiel, when Azrael was surprised to see the Crimson Order amongst the Unforgiven who came to aid the Dark Angels during the Battle of the Caliban System. This was despite Dane's Chapter having suffered many casualties in their latest campaigns. Ezekiel replied that the Grand Master would willingly lead the last of the Crimson Order into their enemies, to uphold Crimson Order's honour in Azrael's eyes. Because of this, the Chief Librarian told the Supreme Grand Master that there was no need to worry if Dane needed to be told the truth of what caused the Battle of the Caliban System to occur. Ezekiel knew the Grand Master would follow Azrael's lead and not pry too deeply into the matter.[1a] The Supreme Grand Master agreed to this and would later give Dane command of the Dark Angels' and Unforgiven's fleet due to his skills in void warfare. Dane would do so from aboard his flagship, the Battle Barge[1b] Flame of Galandros.[1a]
