A Dark Eldar fleet is a collection of fast and deadly raiders filled with advanced technology that puts Imperial equipment to shame.[1]
Overview
Dark Eldar fleets operate from the Webway realm of Commorragh as raiders, pirate, slave merchants. Rather than the graceful aesthetic designs of their Craftworld cousins, Dark Eldar ships are designed only to be practical in their role and horrifying in appearance. In pursuit of torture, murder, and desecration, the Dark Eldar construct all manner of perverse and obscene vessels. Ships may bear nothing but corridors of torture and even feature slaves nailed to their hulls, kept alive in their silent torment even in the vacuum of space.[2]
Dark Eldar fleets, whilst looking apparently alike, actually comprise a vast collection of uniquely outfitted raiding vessels. Each is tailored to best cater to the particular fetishes of their captain and greater master. Classifying such ships is difficult and Dark Eldar vessels are constantly changing in appearance and behavior.[2]
Hiding behind Shadowfields and Mimic engines, Dark Eldar ships are quite adept at sneaking up on unsuspecting victims and unleashing their sophisticated weaponry and deadly boarding parties before their targets are aware of their presence.[1] Unlike the battle and defense fleets of other races, Dark Eldar ships are designed almost entirely towards raiding.[2] Just like their Craftworld cousins, they utilize the Webway to travel throughout the Galaxy from Commorragh.[3]
