"We are sworn to Him. By bond of blood. By Letter of Marque, and Warrant of Trade. To claim the all-encompassing void, for sacred Mankind, in all her terrible wonder. To push further. To fight harder. To strive, not for glory alone. Not for empty plunder, nor hollow profit. We are the vanguard, a light in the black. Oath-sworn, solemn. We are the Davamir Compact."

The Davamir Compact is an alliance of Rogue Trader Houses that was formed to serve the Emperor, during the Great Crusade.[1c]

History

The alliance is led by the head of one of the Houses, who is given the title of Void King or Void Queen and wears the Umbral Crown.[1c] This title can be passed down within the chosen House and the others are bound to serve their King. This is not always the case, though, as some will refuse to obey a command for any given reason. The Void title can also be taken from those who hold it and each House vies to claim it for themselves. Besides their own fleets and holdings, the Compact shares a Space Station known as the Cradle as well. They hold meetings there and the busts and death masks of past Void Kings and Queens line its upper levels. The Compact is currently led by Davos Lamertine of House Lamertine, though he fears he is beginning to lose his grip on the title. Davos had hoped to pass the title to his daughter Evelyne, but she passed away before that could occur. This has forced him to chose his son, Erastus, to take Evelyne's place, but Davos fears the younger Lamertine is not ready for such a task.[1b]
