Deadstar Battles

The Deadstar Battles occurred in 983.M38, when the Black Templars and Crimson Sabres Chapters fought together to defeat the loathsome Thu'l Xenos under the light of dead stars.[1a]
Afterwards, however, the Crimson Sabres presented the Black Templars with a post battle report that detailed how they had failed to meet the Sabres' proper standards in the battle and noted that their tactics greatly deviated from those laid down in the Codex Astartes.[1b] The Black Templars were angered by the report to the point that their High Marshal nearly fought a duel with the Crimson Sabres' Chapter Master, Gryloch. However, this was avoided when Gryloch referred to the Codex Astartes and found that such a course of action was forbidden.[1a]
