Death's Shadow
Death's Shadow is a Hive Fleet Leviathan Neurolictor that has been deployed by the Hive Mind as a leader in advance of a full Tyranid invasion on several worlds. This creature is designed specifically to target and eliminate high-value strategic targets such as enemy commanders and gather strategic intel whilst remaining undetected.[1a]
Overview
Death's Shadow serves as the synapse creature leader for the Insidious Infiltrators group of Vanguard Organisms dedicated to causing terror and confusion behind enemy lines and escaping unseen. To that end this bioform's ability to project a Neural Disruption field which instills a primal fear in creatures around it[1b] is combined with its skill at camouflage and assassination. This makes for a particularly terrifying combination, especially while working in concert with the other deadly creatures it commands. While the Leapers and Lictor distract the defenders, Death's Shadow lies in wait to slip through the defenses and execute its mission.[1a]
History
This Neurolictor was given its evocative name by Imperial troops posted at Fort Angelosa.[1b] Death's Shadow alongside the other Insidious Infiltrators once assaulted a Trans-Hyperian Alliance mining complex on the planet Drovok.[1a]
