Demetrius (Firstborn Captain)
Demetrius was a former Firstborn Captain of the Ultramarines Chapter's 8th Company.[1]
History
He led the 8th in the First Tyrannic War's Battle of Macragge, as the Ultramarines fought to defend their Homeworld from the Tyranids of Hive Fleet Behemoth. However after the Hive Fleet was defeated in space, the Imperium began aiding the rest of the worlds of the Macragge System that had also been invaded by the Tyranids. This included Ameton Epsilon IV, which the Ordo Xenos Inquisitor Kryptman learned contained what would become known as a Norn Queen. The Inquisitor wanted this specimen preserved for study and so the bombardment of Epsilon's surface avoided striking Mount Antigonos, where it had retreated to with other Tyranids. The Inquisitor then charged Demetrius with killing the Norn Queen and the Captain led the 8th and Epsilon's surviving Guardsmen against it. However disaster struck during the battle on the mountain, when the Norn Queen's death unleashed its psychic energy. The resulting impact against Mount Antigonos, caused its summit to collapse and only the 8th's power armour allowed them to survive the disaster. Demetrius would fail in his mission, though, as the Norn Queen's body was lost, after it became buried beneath the mountain's rubble.[1]
