Elephant
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
An Elephant is described as a "very large creature". Its size makes it is easier to hit at range than smaller vehicles such as bikes, dreadnoughts[See Trivia], and landspeeders.[1a]
During the tail end of the Unification Wars, Uwoma Kandawire references the idiom from her homeland of "when the elephants fight, the grass gets trampled". When queried by her aid Armina what an elephant was, Kandawire stated she was not sure but at least one example was alive in the Imperial Palace.[2]
Trivia
- An Elephant is a real world creature
- An Elephant in Warhammer 40,000 is likely similar to an Elephant of Warhammer Fantasy
- As only the Castraferrum Dreadnought was available to the Imperium and Chaos in 2nd Edition[1b], Elephants may not necessarily be larger than other bigger patterns of Dreadnought like the Leviathan or the Telemon.
