Biography
Early Life
It is said that Emil Van Venkman was born on the planet Epsilon Regalis, an ill-fated world made famous by the bloody pogroms unleashed by the Witch Hunter Tyrus. Van Venkman joined Tyrus in this purge, and it is rumoured that he denounced his own family to the Inquisition.[1b]
Orphidia Delta
When Tyrus left Epsilon Regalis for Orphidia Delta, van Venkman went with him, fulfilling his obsession with punishing deviants throughout the galaxy. However, there grew fewer and fewer instances where van Venkman's skills were required, and thus, van Venkman struck out on his own to pursue his personal goals.[1b]
Orphidia Prime
On Orphidia Prime, van Venkman established a reputation as a brutal killer who achieved his ends by any means necessary, hunting down those who dealt with dark magic and forbidden ways.[1b]
His expertise in unusual cases led to his involvement in cases of extraordinary occurrences, freak events and mysterious deaths, often hired directly by members of the Inquisition.[1b]
It is rumoured that he has taken part in the apprehension and slaying of some of the most infamous heretics in the sector: the burning of the Caralase Hive, the apprehension of Jurtoe Dreadelaw, the killing of the Beast of Graia and last, but not least, the decapitation of the Archfiend of Urthwart, even though these worlds are many thousands of light years apart.[1b]
