Bheta-Decima is a nascent fume-shrouded, Imperial Ocean Forge World.[1] Bheta-Decima was once a paradise world rich in natural resources and untouched beauty, but the greed of the Adeptus Mechanicus soon saw it transformed into a vast industrial wasteland feeding the fires of multiple forge worlds.[4]
History
Only recently colonized and originally known as Emperor's Bounty, its low gravity allowed for moving heavy equipment with ease and made it ideal for mining. However before it could be properly categorized by the Administratum greedy Mechanicum Tech-Priests laid claim to the planet and established a new domain for themselves. They quickly swept aside its small population with their military power and transported millions of laborers in from off-world. Emperor's Bounty was redesignated Bheta-Decima and became a Forge World.[1]
When the Gallowdark emerged in Bheta-Decima's system, the greedy ruling Magi used a gigantic Graviton Cannon to pull the Space Hulk into their orbit in order to plunder it of their riches. However during the process the Gallowdark broke apart, raining debris across Bheta-Decima and decimating it. In the aftermath of the catastrophe anarchy and violence reigned, and the planet regressed into a crime-ridden apocalypse dominated by the black market. Devastated PDF and Enforcer units were quickly overwhelmed. Various foes erupted from the ruins of the Gallowdark including Orks, Beastmen, and mechanical horrors. Mechanicum Hunter-Clades clashed with their rival and squads of Traitor Guardsmen created their own petty empires. All of this only further contributed to the chaos.[1]
Meanwhile, the ambitious Magos Bartolomus Virellan managed to capture the Eldar Farseer Torc Dystari from the ruins of the Gallowdark for experimentation. This created further disaster, as it attracted a search party from Biel-Tan seeking to rescue the prisoner. After Dystari's location was discovered, the Farseer Di'sar Caman organised a retribution and rescue operation. They deployed a Striking Scorpions cadre from the Onyx Claw Shrine via a stealth corvette from the Eldar Corsair warband. They soon came into conflict with a Raven Guard Kill-Team under the command of Shadow Sergeant Kyrin Torvaec, which had been deployed to Bheta-Decima in search of pre-Imperial technology once utilized by Corax.[2]
All authority on Bheta-Decima has since collapsed. Its ruling Tech-Priests and Governor have fled with their most valuable assets, battling rebels and pirates the entire way. Dogmatic schisms and opportunism broke out during the collapse, further adding to the anarchy. Beastmen, Genestealer Cultists of the Cult of the Chittering Verse, and Mutants of the Stichkin Gloomlings have all risen as major threats. Much of the fighting is focused around the artificial toxic sea of Hypersump IV and its wharf cities.[3]
The Genestealer Cultists have since drawn the notice of the Star-Children, who they believe will soon arrive to save them. A small splinter of Hive Fleet Leviathan is currently en route to Bheta-Decima, but its Bio-Ships have been detected and engaged by the Farsail of Thryk Kindred of the Leagues of Votann's Trans-Hyperian Alliance. The Squats seek to trap and harvest the splinter fleet, as the Kin of the Leagues of Votann have discovered they can render bio-ship matter into rare and exotic compounds. Scout vessels were deployed ahead of the Tyranids to identify prey worlds, but the Quicksilver Class Scout Ship Vektrônn's Eye was shot down over Bheta-Decima by the Genestealer Cultists. The ship has crashed into the central hold of the Genestealer Patriarch, dubbed Deeprealm. In a desperate panic, the Chittering Verse has descended upon the wreckage of the Votann Ship and are battling with its Kin.[3]
