Erasmus Darvin
Erasmus Darvin is an Adeptus Mechanicus Praefect Acquisitor.[1]
Overview
Born on Luna, he was destined for high office in the Imperium from the start. However, the young Darvin showed an unusual interest in the black arts of technology, and when asked what he wanted to be if he grew up, he always replied "An Enginseer". Sadly, this ambition was denied to him, as a virtual Terran-native, the Adeptus Terra inducted Darvin as soon as he left his training creche. His scientific aptitude was noted, however, and he was assigned to the Adeptus Mechanicus. He then became a Acquisitor and had his brain augmented by an Electrograft, which gave him a complete memory of many of the technological items the Mechanicus have studied. In turn, this allowed him to better perform his duties, as Darvin could now rapidly evaluate Xenos items on the battlefield and reject those objects which were of little worth.[1]
He has since successfully risen to become a Praefect Acquisitor, but unfortunately Darvin's Electrograft has begun to break down. This has resulted in making him irritable, unpredictable, and somewhat irrational. Other setbacks that Darvin has, is his hatred of Orks, due to their complete lack of respect for things technological, and becoming frenzied when he sees a new item of technology. In his duties as a Praefect Acquisitor, Darvin's gear is a mish-mash of technologies and styles, but he carries 25 Suspensors, so that he can easily remove his 'finds'. While he is currently between assignments, Darvin is confidently expecting that he will be attached to a Space Marine Chapter.[1]
