Erwell Costary
Erwell Costary was a Guardsman of the Phantine Fighter Corps active during the Sabbat Worlds Crusade.[1]
Biography
By 771.M41, Costary was a decorated and famed fighter ace. He was among those Phantine pilots that participated in the liberation of their own homeworld when it was invaded and subjugated during the Crusade by the Blood Pact.[1]
On the afternoon of 220.771.M41, just prior to the planned Imperial invasion of Ouranberg, a flight of Chaos aircraft led a raid on the Imperial positions at Cirenholm in an attempt to blunt the attack. The Imperials scrambled all of the available planes they could to defend themselves. Although the resulting battle lasted less than an hour, it was exceptionally hard-fought. Nevertheless, the Imperials were able to destroy a lot of enemy aircraft and drove off all of the others before they could land a single blow on Cirenholm. Six Phantine were lost in the attack, including Costary.[1]
