Exemplary Battles of the Age of Darkness is a series of mini-campaigns for The Horus Heresy: Age of Darkness. These mini-campaigns come in free PDFs from the studio behind Forge World's campaign books. They highlight key conflicts from the Horus Heresy mentioned in Black Library books, that aren't large enough for full campaign books.^[1]

Each scenario is based on existing Horus Heresy lore and offers a concise, richly detailed experience. The campaigns include descriptions of the battles, researched and written by the Horus Heresy team, army list entries for creating and playing units from the lore, and examples of painted models. Some battles are well-known, while others are more obscure, catering to both casual fans and dedicated readers. Each campaign also includes missions, rules, deployment maps, and objectives for tabletop play.^[1]
