Fall of Antirrum
The Fall of Antirrum was a battle that saw the Imperial world Antirrum fall to the Chaos Lord Katallus and his Warband.[1]
History
This was due in part, to Katallus being aided by Antirrum's Planetary Lord Galen, who had secretly been a Heretic for some time. Galen did so to gain further rewards for himself, but the Space Wolves later came to reclaim the world and due to their efforts, Katallus was forced to call for reinforcements from the Eye of Terror. They were slow in arriving, though, and this allowed the Space Wolves to defeat the Chaos Lord. Katallus and his surviving Warband fled afterwards and Antirrum was once more under the Imperium's control.[1]
While Galen's collected arcana was found, and 90 percent of it destroyed after being discovered by the Imperium, there was no sign of what became of the Heretic Planetary Lord. A clue to his fate was later found in a recording Galen made, though, during the Space Wolves' attack on Antirrum. In it, the Planetary Lord is talking as he walks to meet with Katallus and discuss the state of the on-going battle. As it was going poorly for the Chaos Lord, Galen remarked that he was worried Katallus would place the blame on him and then kill him for it. While Katallus in fact accepted Galen's excuses and allowed the Planetary Lord to keep his life, another partial recording hinting at Galen's fate was found by the Inquisition, after the Space Wolves' victory. This was discovered by probing the twisted mind-book of the Chaos Lord's nearly dead Mouth of Katallus and the recording detailed what happened after Galen left the meeting. When it was played, Katallus remarked that while he did not blame the Planetary Lord for the Space Wolves' success in the battle, he was going to have Galen's head served on a platter after they defeated the Space Marines. He was looking so forward to this in fact, that Katallus remarked that he already savored the rich taste of Galen's head.[1]
A report about the Fall of Antirrum was later written by the Adeptus Administratum and the Scribe Olon XXII aided in its creation.[1]
