The Fidelis is a famous Strike Cruiser of the Ultramarines Chapter.[1]

History

It was part of the Ultramarines' armada that was sent to aid the Ork-invaded Vortengard Spiral. However, as the armada journeyed to aid the Imperial worlds in the Spiral, the Ultramarines received a message that the Agri World Styxia Prime was being invaded by a tendril of Hive Fleet Gorgon. Though the Chapter was committed to aid the worlds of the Vortengard Spiral, Master of Sanctity Ortan Cassius was able to successfully petition Chapter Master Calgar to aid the Agri World.[2a]

The Fidelis was then tasked with bringing Cassius' strike force to Styxia Prime[2a] and stayed in its orbit[2b] to provide orbital fire for the Imperium's forces[2c] fighting there.[2d] When the Tyranid invasion was defeated, the Fidelis transported what remained of Cassius' strike force to the Vortengard Spiral, to aid the Chapter in fighting the Ork invasion.[2e]

In M42, the Strike Cruiser was amongst the Ultramarines' forces which aided an Imperial world that was being raided by the Drukhari. During the course of the battle, Captain Cato Sicarius and a Victrix Guard squadron escorted the world's Imperial Governor and his staff to a Thunderhawk that transported them to the Fidelis. They would remain safe there until the Xenos were defeated.[3]
