Gabriel was a Grand Master of the Dark Angels Chapter's Deathwing.

In 960.M41 Gabriel led the Deathwing during the Pandorax Campaign. When the Dark Angels first entered the system, he and the entirety of the Deathwing teleported aboard the asteroid Malefus Murex; they cleansed it easily, finding no serious resistance. After that, Gabriel and the Deathwing teleported over to the ship Revenge to reinforce the Grey Knights. He and several others, including Balthasar, immediately met with Kaldor Draigo. After being informed that the Grey Knights just needed to get close enough to the portal to seal it, Gabriel and his Deathwing cleared a path for the Grey Knights and then protected them once they started the ritual to close it. When Kaldor returned after being taken away by a Daemon Prince Gabriel, along with Azrael and Ezekiel, spoke with him.[2a]
Later in the campaign Gabriel fought against the enemy at Mount Dhume with 30 of the Deathwing and several thousand Imperial Guard. After getting visual confirmation that Abaddon was leading the assault he immediately requested reinforcements.[2b]
Death
He was later killed during a boarding attack on the Space Hulk Charnel Shrine. After Gabriel's death, Belial was chosen to be his successor.[1]
