Ganlick
Ganlick (sometimes called 'Lick) was a Sergeant[1b] of the 7th Paragonian Super-heavy Tank Company, active in the late 300's.M41.[1a][1b]
Biography
By the time of the Kalidar War, Ganlick had served aboard the Baneblade Mars Triumphant for 13 years.[1d] He was the tank's Second Gunner, operating the tank's demolisher cannon.[1a][1b] He was also the backup driver for Mars Triumphant on those occasions where the tank's main driver, Outlanner, was forced to leave the cockpit for a sleep cycle that required the tank to keep moving.[1d]
In 328.397.M41, the 7th Paragonian was stationed in Macaree's Tablelands, the tanks powered down for reactor maintenance. However, an ork warband used a dust storm as cover to attack the Imperial positions. The crewmembers of the 7th's tanks who remained onboard during the maintenance cycle were forced to use the tank's small arms, in particular the sponson-mounted heavy bolters, to prevent the tanks being boarded by orks, with Ganlick manning Mars Triumphant's alongside Marsello. When Lieutenant Bannick made it back onto Mars Triumphant, he took over one of the sponsons, with Ganlick manning the tank's pintle-mounted heavy stubber. Despite the weight of fire, however, one of the orks made it to Mars Triumphant, climbing onto the tank and throwing Ganlick overboard, although the gunner managed to survive with minor injuries.[1c]
Appearance & Personality
Ganlick was bald and extremely large for a tanker. He was also noted to be quite superstitious; although rather foul-mouthed, he never argued with anyone while onboard the tank, as he believed that the act might upset Mars Triumphant's machine spirit.[1b]
