Gheer was a member of the War Hounds (later known as the World Eaters) during the Great Crusade.^[1][2]

Serving as the commander of the Legion before the rediscovery of Angron, Gheer was one of the first to try and calm their Primarch down after he was inconsolable from his teleportation onto the Conqueror by the Emperor during his last stand with his slave soldiers on Nuceria. Gheer was killed by the maddened Primarch, the first of several Legion officers to die by their own Primarch's hands that day.^[1][2]
