Ghost-Warrior

"No barrier, no enemy will thwart my purpose. This night I bring him the dream of death!"
Eldar Ghost-Warriors,[1b] also known as Eldar Battle Drones,[1a] are smaller Wraith Constructs integrated with Infinity Circuits which perform assassination, infiltration, and sabotage.[1b] Their bodies are made of Stelhene, a plastic compound invisible to most sensors that makes a Ghost-Warrior nearly impossible to see by any means other than naked eye-sight.[1b]
Ghost-Warriors are modified for the mission they undertake, such that there are hundreds of different types, and all Ghost-Warrior heads are outfitted to serve as tertiary weapon mounts.[1b] Two typical examples are:
- Executioner class - Coated with additional Cameleoline. Armed with a Chainfist, a Powerglove and a face-mounted Flamer[1b]
- Assassin Class - Also coated with Cameleoline. Sports two Powergloves and a face-mounted Shuriken Catapult, as well as a Teleport Homer.[1b]
Trivia
- Ghost-Warriors were first introduced along with Spirit-Warriors and the Infinity Circuit in White Dwarf 101 (UK) as an alternative to the Eldar-piloted Dreadnoughts introduced an issue earlier in White Dwarf 100 (UK), all but replacing the piloted Dreadnought in concept. This would be codified by Codex: Eldar (2nd Edition), which described a Dreadnought powered by a Spirit Stone implanted within the shell of a machine.[2] The codex would include a smaller sized unit, the durable Wraithguard,[2] but no stealthy analogue for the Ghost-Warrior would appear, and none has reappeared since.
- The word "Ghost Warrior" would itself be reused in Codex: Craftworld Eldar (3rd Edition) to describe the Wraith Construct-lead armies of Craftworld Iyanden,[3] and by Codex: Eldar (6th Edition) generalized to refer to all Wraith Constructs.[4]
