Goggulz
Goggulz is one of the lucky Grotz that took up the mantle of the legendary Grot hero Da Red Gobbo.
History
Goggulz was once an orderly for Waaagh! Big Zag's celebrated Painboy Stimma. The seizure of Goggulz' coveted goggles, his namesake and only real possession, was a pivotal moment for the Grot. Stringbag had complained that Goggulz had goggles and he hadn't and the boss had confiscated this meagre possession. Some time after Stimma had made a quick exit, declaring to his patient that he was "just popping out for another bag of blood", Goggulz used the opportunity to get his revenge on his rival, strangling him.[1a]
When Stimma returned from his getaway, he was dismayed to find the Grotz of Karanos V acting very strangely indeed. Rather than misbehaving as usual, the little gits were behaving, which was most unnerving - no thieving, plotting, skiving or cursing in sight. He was relieved to find his Grot orderly Goggulz behaving in the way that every Grot should: he was horrible. Nonetheless, he was still extremely concerned, as he was convinced that the Grotz needed the usual chaos of their social relations to get any proper work done for the Orks[1a] so he went with Goggulz to inform Big Zag, who naturally assigned the task of fixing the Grotz to the Ork who'd brought the problem to him, before the end of the day, on pain of death.[1b]
Despairing at the task before him, and afraid of what Zag would do to him should he fail, Stimma was at a loss until Goggulz pointed out that they could use some of the Red Gobbo types in Stimma's stories to rekindle a sense of rebellion in the Grotz.[1b] Goggulz was there every step of the way on the boss's desperate odyssey until Stimma was safely occupied in Weirdboy Eadrek's hut, immersed in a spiritual journey to understand the nature of Da Red Gobbo.[1c]
At this point, Goggulz threw off his previous identity, becoming that very legendary hero and launching a great Revolushun of his own. After Stimma exited the hut, Da Red Gobbo revealed that the whole affair had been a ruse to leave the Orks disarmed and unguarded. He acknowledged that the Grotz would eventually be beaten down again, but each time they rise up, the infamy of Da Red Gobbo would grow and grow until the fateful day when the last Ork is slain. After that, the two partook in one final fight to the death.[1d]
Appearance
Goggulz is a small Grot, barely bigger than a Snotling, noted for his chewed ears and innumerable scars.[1a] As Da Gobbo, he wears a battered greatcoat and goggles.[1d]
