Goros Pok is an Imperial Agri-World located in the Gorian System of the Macharian Sector.[1]

The Administratum maintains tenuous control, using the Ecclesiarchy to bind labourers through sermons and harvest hymns. Clerks and priests dominate the non-labouring class, holding authority from barns to silo-shrines.[1]

The Adeptus Mechanicus also maintains a presence, operating servo-haulers and machinery to keep production stable. They frequently cooperate with the Astra Militarum, who are forced to aid in suppressing minor uprisings. Despite mutual disdain, these factions have formed a practical alliance to hold Goros Pok together.[1]

History

For centuries, Goros Pok has endured the rolling Warp storms that lash the trailing edge of the Yix Sub-Sector. Despite this hardship, the planet became a dependable resource world, exporting food to multiple Imperial colonies. Its people celebrated massive Harvest Tithe festivals, labouring beyond endurance to deliver record-breaking yields to the Administratum and Ecclesiarchy. The great bounty was praised as a sign of the Emperor’s favour, though the toll in lives was equally vast.[1]

When the Noctis Aeterna struck, Goros Pok was entirely shrouded. For the first time in its history, the Tithe was not collected. Silos overflowed with rotting food, ships stood empty, and millions of tonnes of grain and meat spoiled in storage. The Administratum explained this as a temporary lapse, but whispers soon spread that the Emperor had turned His face from Goros Pok. Faith faltered, and resentment brewed among the labourers.[1]

Cults of Goros Pok

During and after the Blackness, heretical sects multiplied among the disillusioned citizenry. Four major cults were identified by the Inquisition:

  • The Blood-Crop Combine – A death cult that teaches the Harvest Tithes failed because they were insufficient. They demand ever-greater sacrifices of sweat, blood, and souls to regain the Emperor’s favour.[1]
  • The Sect of the Twisted Sickle – Centred around a three-armed mutant woman hailed as a living saint. Her followers claim the Emperor Himself kissed her brow and gave her divine authority over the harvest. She and her devotees revel in excess labour and violent ecstasy.[1]
  • The Creed of the Harrower-In-Green – An ignorant but dangerous sect that preaches the Emperor created the Great Rift to punish humanity. They hoard food, claiming that starving others spreads the Emperor’s blessing. Their practices include grotesque effigies of mutilated corpses and apocalyptic prophecy.[1]
  • The Changing Season – A diffuse but ominous cult tied to whispers of renewal and flame. Their rites include smoke, effigies, and the phrase “The Changing Season is Coming” written in blood and ash. Inquisitorial agents believe this cult may act as a unifying force for the others.[1]

Notable Figures

  • Confessor Verity Tiberius – A fiery preacher who once believed that no faith could be excessive. After witnessing cults firsthand, she now fears the extremes of Goros Pok’s zealotry, though her presence has unintentionally inflamed further fanaticism.[1]
  • Administratum Scrivener Nominus Meier – Originally tasked with cataloguing mutant crop damage, Meier became entangled in the myth of a three-armed “saviour.” Struggling against his own doubts and the productivity her cult brings, he teeters on the edge of heresy.[1]
  • Interrogator MelnykOrdo Hereticus agent who reported extensively on Goros Pok’s cults to Inquisitor Ksenia Baek. His analysis suggests nearly one in five citizens belongs to a heretical sect. He has requested immediate reinforcement.[1]
