Gravier
Gravier is an Inquisitor[3] and former Interrogator Acolyte well known for his service within the retinue of Inquisitor Defay.[1][2a][2b]
History
Interrogator
Gravier was an Interrogator who accompanied Inquisitor Defay to Nicodemus where together they unmasked the Chaos-corrupted Cardinal Sarthos, and the corruption that lay within the noble bloodline of House Matheldas – an event which ignited the Warp powers of Defay causing his master to flee.[2a]
Gravier found his way to serving as Interrogator to Inquisitor Klantz and did so for five years, the whole time searching for the fate of Defay. When the inquisition charged Inquisitor Reiker with the task of tracking down Defay, believing the ex-inquistor to have turned to Heresy, but seeing a chance to learn the truth of Defay's fate, Gravier sought reasignment to Reiker.[2b]
Their search led them to Sepulchris where Reiker confronted Defay, only for the ever-loyal Gravier to intervene allowing his old master to best the new. However, this decision was in error, as Defay had in fact fallen to heresy – betraying Gravier and leaving him for dead.[2b] However, Gravier survived through seeming-Mechanicus intervention, eventually becoming an Inquisitor himself.[3]
Inquisitor
26 years later a Callidus assasin on the Forge World of Urdesh restored the fractured mind of Gravier, recruiting now-Inquisitor Gravier for a new purpose.[3]
