Grell was a Sergeant of the Tanith First and Only.[1a]
Biography
Back home on Tanith, Grell had experience as an engineer before enlisting for the planet's first Founding of Imperial Guard Regiments.[1b] He achieved the rank of Sergeant, serving in the regiment's fifth platoon.[1a]
When the Tanith First were deployed against the Shriven on the Forge World of Fortis Binary, Grell was amongst those Tanith Guardsmen under Colonel Corbec who were pinned behind enemy lines, isolated from Colonel-Commissar Gaunt (the regiment's commanding officer) by an artillery bombardment.[1a]
Later in the assault on the Shriven's lines, Corbec and his men linked back up with Gaunt, the rest of the Tanith and a detachment of Vitrian Dragoons led by Colonel Zoren. Together, the Guard infiltrated one of the Shriven's munitions dumps.[1b][1c] There, they engaged the cultists and a number of Iron Warriors Chaos Space Marines. Grell was killed by a bolt round.[1c]
