Gun Rig
Gun Rigs are mobile Imperial defense structures, that double as deep-sea mining installations.[1c]
Description
They are equipped with a Autocartography Data Stack, which maps the area around[1b] and beneath the Gun Rigs.[1c] This stored information can then be transmitted elsewhere, which can make the Data Stacks useful in battle.[1b] The structures are also armed with a massive Anti-orbital Array laser weapon,[1a] which is capable of firing into orbit. The Gun Rigs' holds are large enough to contain the resources they mine and the structures can also be connected to Promethium pipelines. Worlds can have entire fleets of Gun Rigs at their disposal, which can be deployed into battle. When this occurs, the Gun Rigs are manned by naval militia and they can be used as deployment points for Imperial forces.[1c]
