Gydisk Quartas was a world of the Imperium.[1a] It is the fourth planet of the Gydisk System, located in the Pankallis Sub-sector.[1b]
History
In early M42, the Octarius War threatened to spill out of the Octarius warzone and breach the Cordon Impenetra. The tyranids of Hive Fleet Leviathan swarmed through the Pankallis Sub-sector, overwhelming the worlds of the Gydisk System. They scoured Gydisk Quartas's caves of their megafunghi colonies.[1a]
Despite the efforts of Gydisk's Imperial defenders, the entire system was declared lost, although scattered Imperial resistance remained active across the region.[1a] On the orders of the Death Strike Chapter, the world's vast food stockpiles were either evacuated to support Imperial efforts elsewhere in the sub-sector or burned to prevent the tyranids consuming them.[1c]
