Helfathers are the elite custodians of the Iron Council.^[1]

Overview

Helfathers are clad in black Terminator Armour without trim and no clan sigil or clave number adorning it. Even Iron Hands battle-brothers don't know if the Helfathers have names at all - Helfathers never speak and rarely leave Meduson on the planet Medusa. It is also not known how somebody can become a Helfather; common battle-brothers prefer not to ask about it. An additional closely-held secret of the Helfathers is that Helfather suits do not need an Astartes alive inside to function. Their main duties are seen to be escort and security.^[1]

• These particular Iron Hand units may be connected to the cybernetic ressurections of the Keys of Hel, technologies that Ferrus Manus had forbidden but upon his death were utilized by his legion in the Horus Heresy.
