Heliogabalus is an Imperial hive world.^[1]

History

At some point, a heretical pleasure cult had taken root in the noble family of the local Imperial Commander, Aphra Verlaine. The corruption had spread to Verlaine’s ancestral allies, ultimately resulting in a devastating civil war spanning multiple systems.^[1]

The hive world was eventually liberated by Colonel Elena Grayloc and her 83rd Yervaunt Voltigeurs. Grayloc led her Tempestus Scions to Aphra Verlaine’s throne room, through hordes of horribly transformed cultists. With the death of Aphra Verlaine, the Archenemy forces fell into disarray, and Heliogabalus was liberated. Despite the Imperial victory, Colonel Elena Grayloc and the 83rd Yervaunt Voltigeurs were not left unaffected by Verlaine’s taint.^[1]
