The Helispex Engine is a sacred artefact of the Adeptus Mechanicus Genetor cult and is located in Augusteam on the planet Hydraphur.[1]

History

Held within the Helispex Chapel, this device served as a type of DNA analysis machine which was capable of analysing blood samples and determine the persons heritage. Its nature meant it is considered a great relic of the Machine God and contains a silvered face which was engraved writings that formed a stylised reproduction of the sacred emblem of the Adeptus Mechanicus namely the Machina Opus. This was superimposed by a larger design which consisted of another skull that was drawn with augmetics to the eye and cranium which suggested a Servitor or certain patterns of junior acolytes. This skull was distended as well as stylised with its mouth open with the maw where samples were administered to the Engine itself.[1]

Those that approached it for its guidance often heard the click of the machinery inside becoming operational which was a sign that the Machine Spirits remembered their duty. Once activated, the Engine called down the mind of the Machine God into its circuits and nanostacks whereupon it brought about the unknowable intellect of the Arch-Mechanicus to beat. Genetors are known to come from three sectors on pilgrimages to the Shrine of the Machine God on Hydraphur in order to see the Helispex. Seven months ago, the arch-Lexmechanic of the Twelfth Tech-Guard fleet arrived on Hydraphur with gifts of servitors, scriptures as well as machine-parts blessed on Mars itself to the Engine.[1]

The clarity of the Helispex's communion with the Machine God was to such an extent that is able to perform seventy six billion calculations as well as observations in a second and process them in five seconds more. With its abilities, the Adeptus Mechanicus often have a traditional honour that is paid to the Rogue Trader family line of Phrax where the Engine confirms the bloodline of each successor. Once it had determined its findings, the Helispex transmitted them to attendant machines which in turn informed the Magi awaiting the results. This device also contained archived-data and remembers every operation it had ever performed as well as every petition that had made before it. The data it produces included a gene-prints, chemical analysis to the molecular along with the sub-molecular level and microchemical forensics. This information allowed the Magos who received the data to know everything about the subject as well as the impacts of their life had on their blood which included what food they had eaten, the diseases they had, the type of sunlight they have been exposed to as well as the vaccinations they had taken.[1]
