Hernot
Hernot was a Junior Officer in the Astra Militarum.[4]
History
He was among[4] its forces that the Inquisitor Lord Severus Oln[3] hastily gathered, to confront[1] the Warband of the Nurgle Sorcerer Septic Lexus.[2] Oln's pursuit of the Warband led his forces to Tikgrix, where the Inquisitor Lord originally thought he would be dealing with a routine Chaos Cult purging. However he soon began sensing[1] a Great Unclean One[5] within his mind, which was trapped within a cube prison in a village on Tikgrix. Lexus intended to break the prison open, and Oln realized at once, that he was not prepared to face[1] the Greater Daemon.[6] Instead the Inquisitor Lord resolved to stop the Sorcerer from freeing the Great Unclean One and then a cell of Inquisitors or Grey Knights would later deal with the Greater Daemon.[1]
The two sides then clashed in the village,[5] all while the Greater Daemon attacked their minds to dominate them.[6] Unfortunately, Hernot[4] and many of Oln's forces fell under its sway and this greatly aided[6] Lexus in successfully freeing the Great Unclean One. The Inquisitor Lord was then killed in battle with the Sorcerer and the newly freed Daemon, who soon unleashed the forces of the Chaos God Nurgle upon the world. This led to the deaths of Hernot and Oln's remaining retinue and the Great Unclean One[5] began to change Tikgrix into a Daemon World.[1]
Trivia
Hernot and Severus Oln were created by the Games Workshop employee Bryan Barnes and they were featured on an older version of the company's website.[3]
