Hive Fleet Nautilon is a newly discovered colossal tendril of Hive Fleet Leviathan, that invaded Segmentum Pacificus alongside Hive Fleet Promethor and caused the Fourth Tyrannic War to begin.[1a]

History

The onslaught of the two Leviathan tendrils appear to be coordinated, with Nautilon having descended from above the galactic plane to invade Pacificus. It then struck a swathe through the Segmentum's Asmodiox Sector, before pushing towards the western edge of the Vynor Sector. By the time the Imperium realized the extant of the threat Nautilon and Promethor posed, the tendrils had already begun advancing on roughly a parallel course towards Segmentum Solar. If their path continues, it is feared by high-ranking Imperial officials that the tendrils could eventually reach Terra itself. This has led the Imperium to begin a massive mobilizing of its forces, in order to stop Nautilon and Promethor before this can occur.[1a]

Small Imperial strike forces known as Solblades were launched to stop the two tendrils and were eventually successful in slowing Nautilon and Promethor's advance. However this ended after a third Leviathan tendril named Grendyllus suddenly appeared and invaded the Bastior Sub-sector, which lay behind the Solblades' frontlines. At that time, Lord Commander Solar Leontus was located in the Sub-sector, as he had made the Anchor World Sanctum his base of operations. When he realized the full scale of the invasion, Leontus knew Bastior's Imperial forces were not enough to defend it. The Lord Commander Solar would then send out a plea for aid to the Solblades and any other Imperial forces outside the Sub-sector that could help[1b]. Upon learning of this, the Solblades withdrew from fighting Nautilon and Promethor and immediately made their way to the Bastior Sub-sector. While the strike forces have so far succeeded in preventing Grendyllus from completely consuming Bastior, the Imperium fears Nautilon and Promethor will now be able to continue their advance upon Segmentum Solar.[1c]
