Typhon (Hive Fleet)
Typhon is a Tyranid Hive Fleet.[1]

History
Few Hive Fleets are stranger than Typhon, due to the opportunistic predatory behaviour it displays. Among the examples of this, is that Typhon's Bio-Ships feed upon worlds that have already been weakened by disasters like famine, war or outbreaks of diseases. Genestealers also play heavily in the Hive Fleet's tactics, as Typhon will produce a large number of the Bioforms prior to attacking a world. Once the invasion begins, the Genestealers will board spaceships fleeing from the doomed world, so they can infect other worlds that are in the Hive Fleet's path. Typhon is also unique for being the only known Hive Fleet that will cannibalize other Fleets' Bioforms. When this occurs, Typhon's Bioships will coil around a Hive Fleet that has already successfully conquered a world and will then begin consuming the world's biomass and the Fleet's Bioforms as well. It will also do this in a way that ensures that Typhon will lose as little of its own biomass as possible.[2]
Chalnath Expanse
During the Fourth Tyrannic War, it was discovered that the Chalnath Expanse had long ago been infected by Typhon, along with the Hive Fleets Kronos and Leviathan. Tendrils from all three of them have now been drawn to the Expanse by the Genestealer Cults the Hive Fleets have created. Typhon's vanguard Bioships have since invaded the Vedik System and devoured the Feral World Yannapad. It is now invading the System's agricultural centre Herkuniat, whose Genestealer Cults have welcomed the Hive Fleet.[2]
Broods of evolved Raveners have recently been discovered buried underneath the Imperial world of Volkus. How long they had been there is unknown, but lends credence to the theory that elements of the Tyranids have been in the galaxy far longer than previously suspected.[3b]
